As previously communicated by Water Services, the municipality is in the process of converting all Blue Tag and Silver Tag prepaid water meters to postpaid water meters.
This conversion aims to address short lifespan and high maintenance requirements of these meters as well as associated revenue losses and budget constraints related to repairs and replacements.
Residents are requested to take note of the following:
- Prepaid meters with remaining credit will only be converted once the available credit has been fully utilised.
- All meters that are faulty or not functioning correctly will be prioritised for immediate conversion. In such cases, customers are required to contact us to initiate the process.
The municipality is aware that some previously converted meters are not yet reflecting on billing. Affected customers are encouraged to report this to avoid accumulation of debt.
There is no need to visit municipal offices. Customers may submit their details via email to maud.selebano@mogalecity.gov.za, customerservices@mogalecity.gov.za or WhatsApp 083 787 2814 quoting the water meter number and municipal account number.
