Mogale City’s bulk water supplier, Rand Water, has reduced pumping capacity to the municipality in order to relieve pressure on its distribution network. This follows ongoing challenges in balancing water demand, which currently far exceeds available supply across Gauteng.

As a result, reservoir levels are now rapidly declining.

Current reservoir levels are as follows:
Kagiso: 7% | Kagiso Extension 13: 1% | Azaadville: 31% | Kenmare Sump: 38% | Kenmare Reservoir: 32%

High-lying areas may begin to experience low water pressure, intermittent supply, or temporary water outages.

Residents are advised to use water sparingly during this period by reducing shower times and limiting non-essential water usage to help stabilise the system

Water tankers will be dispatched to affected areas through ward councillors to minimise the impact on residents.
