Rand Water has advised Water Services that the maintenance work which commenced yesterday at 04:00 has been postponed to June 2026 due to isolation challenges. As a result, the Kagiso and Azaadville reservoirs are currently pumping as normal.
In anticipation of the maintenance, Water Services had planned for the Kagiso Extension 13 Reservoir to run empty and accordingly scheduled cleaning and disinfection during this period. This process is currently underway and is expected to be completed by 16:00 today, after which water supply will be restored to affected communities.
In the interim, water tankers are being deployed. Affected residents are encouraged to contact their ward councillor for information on tanker distribution points.
