Mogale City Executive Mayor Lucky Sele today continued his hands-on community upliftment efforts with a donation of approximately 50 pairs of school shoes to learners at Munsieville Primary School in Extension 4.

The initiative forms part of the mayor’s ongoing back-to-school programme, aimed at restoring dignity, improving comfort and supporting learners from indigent households.

Cllr Sele acknowledged the socio-economic challenges faced by many families in the area, noting that the back-to-school period places a heavy financial burden on parents and guardians who struggle to provide necessities for their children. He encouraged learners not to allow material challenges to define their future, emphasising that education remains a powerful pathway out of poverty and towards achieving their full potential.

Munsieville Primary School serves 1 047 learners and currently operates from 35 mobile classrooms. Acting Principal Ms Mmabatho Moloi expressed sincere appreciation for the donation, noting its positive impact on learners’ confidence and overall well-being. Beneficiaries were identified through submissions made by educators.

Following the handover, Mayor Sele proceeded to Thutolefa High School, where he delivered a motivational address focusing on bullying, ill-discipline, and reaffirming his commitment to youth development through tangible action.
