Residents of Magaliesberg and surrounding communities are advised that the Magaliesberg Waste Transfer Station, located on Koster Road next to the cemetery, is now open for public use. The transfer station operates weekdays from 07h30 until 16h00.
✅ Permitted waste types
- General household waste
- Garden waste
- Recyclables: paper, plastic, glass, and metal
❌ Prohibited waste types
- Hazardous waste (chemicals, asbestos, oils, etc.)
- Medical waste (needles, syringes, items contaminated with body fluids, coffins, etc.)
- Industrial sludge
🔑 Access requirements
To use the facility, residents must first open an account by completing an application form onsite and submitting alongside:
- A copy of the user’s ID
- Proof of address
Anyone found disposing of unacceptable waste at the site will be fined and required to remove such waste to a designated facility at their own cost.
