Mogale City’s Credit Control division has launched a major relief initiative offering a 100% interest write-off on overdue municipal accounts for all qualifying customers who either settle their accounts in full or enter a valid payment arrangement. The initiative began on 24 November and runs until 24 December 2025, giving customers a full month to benefit from this financial reprieve.
This forms part of Operation Qoqimali, which encourages residents to take pride in their city by paying for the services they use. By removing the burden of accumulated interest, the municipality aims to provide meaningful relief to households and businesses still recovering from economic strain.
All qualifying customers who meet the requirements during the campaign period will have their interest backdated and written off accordingly.
For those unable to pay their accounts in full, the municipality is offering fair and flexible payment arrangement options. Customers are reminded that honouring these arrangements is essential for the interest write-off to remain valid.
