While the municipality is committed to supporting residents and businesses, it must also protect the financial sustainability of the city and ensure continued service delivery.
If you choose not to pay or fail to make the necessary arrangements with Credit Control, the following steps will be taken:
- SMS Notification: You’ll first receive an SMS reminding you of your outstanding account.
- Final Letter of Demand: If there’s still no action, a final letter of demand will be delivered to your door by our authorised Credit Control service providers, Cigicell (PTY) LTD and Ntiyiso Consulting (PTY) LTD.
- Disconnection: If there’s no response, your water and/or electricity services will be disconnected.
- Legal Recovery: Continued non-payment will result in your account being handed over to debt collectors for legal action and recovery.
Don’t wait until it’s too late. Help is available, but only if you take the first step.
