Rand Water will be conducting essential maintenance on its infrastructure to improve plant availability, reliability and efficiency, ensuring a more flexible system at Zuikerbosch and Vereeniging.
This work is scheduled to take place from 30 June 2025 at 05hoo until 21 July 2025 at 05h00 during which:
- Water pumping will cease for six hours
- Pumping will then gradually increase to 50% for 42 hours and 80% pumping capacity for the remaining 19 days.
During this shutdown, several areas in Mogale City will experience supply disruptions and full recovery may take up to two weeks after Rand Water restores normal operations.
To prevent a complete collapse of the water distribution system, Water Services will implement controlled throttling of reservoir outlets to maintain adequate water levels and ensure consistent pressure.
Further reminders and contingency plans, including water tanker deployments, will be shared closer to the scheduled shutdown.
On behalf of Rand Water, our bulk water supplier, Mogale City Water Services apologises in advance for the inconvenience.
