RE: Re-registration of spaza shops and other businesses
In line with a broader government response to recent alarming incidents of the death of children due to food-borne illnesses, Mogale City Local Municipality in partnership with Gauteng Provincial Government are embarking on a Lokiša Kgwebo Ya Gago/ Qondis’ Ishishini Lakho/Fix Your Business/ Maak Reg Jou Besigheid campaign as a comprehensive programme to address all aspects of illegality prevalent in township and rural economies. The campaign which assumes a developmental approach to promoting compliance, is also an approach anchored on collaboration across various stakeholder groupings, playing a critical role in community development.
Whilst focus is on the extent to which businesses comply with licensing, permits, health conditions and other, compliance with zoning rights will also be checked. All property owners running businesses in their premises are therefore invited to attend information sharing sessions on the processes they need to undertake to make their businesses compliant.

The forms are also available on request via takalani.rambao@mogalecity.gov.za and they can be also downloaded from the municipal website.
