As Eskom concludes its TID Roll Over programme, Mogale City Energy Services urges residents that have not yet upgraded their prepaid electricity meters to check the status of their meter and when necessary, recode to comply with the required updates.
To check whether your meter has been re-coded/upgraded to KRN2 or is still on KRN1, follow these steps:
- Please enter the code 1844 6744 0738 4377 2416 on your prepaid meter’s keypad
- The screen will display either the number 1 or 2, and in some cases, there may also be alphabetic letters alongside the KRN number
- KRN1 or 1.2 means your meter is still on KRN1 and needs to be recoded/upgraded to KRN2.
- KRN2 or 2.2 means the meter has been updated
If your meter is not upgraded, please contact our Customer Care Centre with your meter number and a key change token will be issued (KCT), enabling you to update your meter.
