As the municipality continues to grapple with its R3.5 billion debt due to non-payments for municipal services rendered, stringent debt management interventions are being applied to all defaulters to ensure the city’s financial viability and continued delivery of services.

As part of our debt management interventions, Mogale City has appointed seven debt collection providers to aid collection on accounts that are over 60 days due, and where no payment plan and/or arrangement is in place.

The seven companies namely Hahn Collection Pty (Ltd), Buthelezi Inc, Credit Intelligence Professional Debt Collectors, Saya Recoveries Pty (Ltd), Madhlopa Thenga Inc Attorneys, Morkalio Revenue Solutions and Mojela Hlazo Attorneys Inc, were appointed under Tender number: CORP (L) 01/2024-B to collect debt on the municipality’s behalf.

Knowing these providers is very important in light if ongoing scams which the municipality from time-to-time experiences.

While the municipality strives to collect what it is owed, we also acknowledge that some households and businesses may be struggling to make ends meet given the country’s current economic challenges. Under these circumstances, we invite such ratepayers to approach Revenue Management Division for alternative payment arrangements where a downpayment will also be determined to avoid penalties and municipal service disconnections.

We continue to appeal to residents and businesses operating in the city to be responsible citizens by not only paying for their share of consumed services but make that binding contribution in creating a stable, growing and economically viable city for all its residents and businesses.

Your contribution truly makes a difference!
