As Rand Water continues with its planned maintenance work, the majority of our water storage reservoir levels continue to rapidly drop thus decreasing pressure in the systems.

As of this afternoon, our reservoir levels are sitting at the below percentages:

  • Krugersdorp 2: 89%
  • Krugersdorp 3: 47%
  • Krugersdorp 4: 44%
  • Witpoortjie 1: 2%
  • Witpoortjie 2: 4%

Krugersdorp 2,3 and 4 are Rand Water Storage Depo Reservoirs which feed Kenmare, Munsieville and Dan Pienaar Reservoirs which subsequently feed the CBD, Munsieville and all its surroundings while Witpoortjie 1 and 2 are Rand Water Reservoirs situated in Kagiso feeding Kagiso Reservoirs which subsequently feed the entire Kagiso and its surroundings.

The municipality will continue to provide water to affected areas using available water tankers while Rand Water continues to conduct the planned maintenance.

We urge residents that still have water supply to stop trying to store water by filling bathtubs and other containers as these actions drastically drop water levels in our reservoirs. We will also continue to provide updates from Rand Water through the municipal website, local media and WhatsApp notices as information becomes available.

We continue to ask for your cooperation by using available water sparingly, being patient and your understanding during this period.
