Mogale City’s Energy Services wishes to inform residents and businesses around the city experiencing an extended power outage that Eskom has lost power on its 132 kV supply to Mogale City.
Eskom has dispatched technicians, but the cause has not yet been assessed, and therefore at this point we unable to advise on the expected duration of the outage. Residents and affected parties will be informed via local and social media and the municipal website.

UPDATE: EXTENDED POWER OUTAGE IN MOGALE CITY

Following a power outage earlier this morning, please note that Eskom technicians are still at the Condale Sub-station and the following actions have been taken:
- A power trip on a transformer was identified
- The affected transformer was tested this afternoon and no faults were found
- Another testing team has been deployed from Germiston to assess and do further tests before attempts to switch power back on
- The above is done as a precautionary measure to avoid damage
- Once the second team is on site, work is estimated to take between 3 to 5 hours should there be no complications
