DELAYS IN COMPLETION OF SPONSORED CBD ROADS RE-SURFACING PROJECT
Contrary to a previous public statement issued by the municipality, Mogale City’s Roads and Transport Services would like to inform road and other affected users that the Treasury-sponsored road re-surfacing project initially targeted for completion at the end of May 2023 will be temporarily delayed. Construction activities currently underway on Windsor Road, Albertina Sisulu and Paardekraal Drive have stalled due to non-allocation of funds by our government sponsor, National Treasury.
The national government funder is currently in the process of re-allocating funds which has resulted in impermanent delays in completing the required road re-surfacing construction work. Based on feedback received, the contractors will resume full operations once the funding re-allocation process has been finalised.
On behalf of National Treasury and the municipality as a stakeholder in this project, Mogale City Roads and Transport Services hereby apologises to all road users and affected parties for the inconvenience these delays may create.
