Mogale City Energy Services is aware that residents in some parts of Noordheuwel have been experiencing low voltage since last night. This after the on Thursday, the area completely lost power supply following a heavy storm where mini substation transformers on Langeberg Street and Market Street were struck by lightning. Although the dispatched team was able to reconnect some of our residents back on the grid last night, the electricity network experienced was undervoltage (not strong enough).
Our technical team has already sourced two replacement mini substations which are on route to site. Once the replacement units have been delivered, the restoration of power supply will commence. This process will regrettably take several hours, and we thus urge all residents to treat electrical wiring as live and to switch off all appliances to avoid injury and damage once supply is restored.
We further urge residents in affected areas to exercise patience while our team works on restoring power supply.
