Rand Water and Johannesburg Water reservoir levels have slightly improved thus increasing pressure in their systems. This allowed the two suppliers to start pumping water into Mogale City reservoirs which are slowly recovering. Currently, our reservoir levels are sitting at 38% which is critically low due to high water demand.
We continue to plead with consumers that still have running water to reduce their consumption and refrain from trying to store water by filling bathtubs and other containers. These actions drop water levels in our reservoirs as they do not get a chance to fill up.
In the interim, the municipality will continue to provide water through tankers until all reservoirs fully recover.
