Mogale City Water Services has noted public concern on Rand Water’s planned pipeline maintenance, which has been widely shared and created some concern due to social media dialogue. The municipality would like to inform our residents that the planned shutdown will not affect Mogale City.
Rand Water has issued a 21-day notice to the affected municipal customers of its scheduled maintenance of the B6 pipeline commencing on 19 ending on 23 August 2022. This notice was sent to the affected municipalities namely City of Ekurhuleni, City of Tshwane, Johannesburg Water, and direct customers Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) and South African Airways (SAA) to allow them to execute their appropriate contingency plans.
Rand Water has further advised the above listed local municipalities and direct customers to fill their reservoirs before the maintenance work commences.
The municipality however encourages residents to use water sparingly at all times.
