It is that time of year again where motorists can expect to see more roadblocks around the country’s roads as traffic officials work harder to deal with the increase in traffic flow, road offenses and to ensure the safety of all road users.
Contrary to a false belief that roadblocks especially during the holiday season, are only to identify drunk drivers, they are set up to also deal with reckless and negligent driving, check the validity of vehicles and drivers’ licenses, search for illegal goods and finally deal with outstanding traffic fines.
Given the expected encounters with traffic officials at roadblocks this holiday season, Mogale City Public Safety is reintroducing its convenient way for motorists to clear up outstanding fines before hitting the roads to their various holiday destinations.
This is a great opportunity for motorists to enquire about pending fines which they may not be aware of and query, dispute or settle their outstanding traffic fines even those that have passed their due date. Municipal prosecutors will also be on site for those that wish to dispute or make requests for reduced penalties.
