Road maintenance is essential not only to preserve the road in its originally constructed condition but also to protect adjacent resources and ensure user safety. In an effort to achieve this, the road network in Mogale City requires ongoing maintenance. Accordingly, the municipality’s Road and Transport Services Division earlier this week embarked on a Roads Rehabilitation and Resurfacing Project to also improve the condition of main access roads into the city’s Central Business District (CBD).
Work on this project will be implemented along the following roads:
- Chamdor Road also known as Adcock Street. Work will be varied out from Leratong Hospital to the Voortrekker intersection
- Barrat Road from Voortrekker Road to the train station and taxi rank
- Luipaard Street from Coronation Road through Paardekraal Road until Mill Road
- On Voortrekker Road, work will be carried out on the section of the road opposite Burgerbox (the lane from: Shannon Road towards Frederick Cooper Drive)
Although work is currently underway, personnel will take a break on 15 December 2021 for the holiday season and resume in the new year on 17 January 2022. The project is scheduled to be completed in June 2022 however, this is subject stable working weather conditions.
Details on detours and temporary road closures because of the said work will be made available on our website and in local newspapers; we therefore encourage residents, businesses and road users to monitor our website for updates.
We also thank you in advance for your co-operation during these phases of road maintenance.
