Mogale City Local Municipality’s Economic Development Services Division calls on registered and approved grocery stores, wholesale produce markets, informal traders and spaza shops that wish to trade during the Covid-19 lockdown to apply for temporary permits.

This is in response to an announcement by Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma that selected vendors be allowed to sell basic goods during the lockdown period. Vendors are consequently invited to apply and collect temporary permits at Ellerines Building at the corner of Human and Monument Streets in the CBD on the 3rd Floor, Krugersdorp.

The office will open on Monday, 6 April 2020 and Tuesday, 7 April 2020 from 09h00am until 13h00pm. No new applications will be considered during this period.

The following documents will be required:

  • Business registration document issued by the CIPC
  • ID copy of the person applying for the permit
  • Applicant’s proof of address
  • Letter from the applicant’s ward councillor

Please note that spaza shops and businesses that sell cooked food only will not be issued temporary permits as per Covid-19 regulations.

Social distancing and the provision of sanitizers will be strictly adhered to during this process.
