The South African Post Office (SAPO) has informed Mogale City Local Municipality to expect delays in the postal delivery of its municipal statements for the month of June 2018 due to an ongoing strike.

SAPO has seen incidents of work stoppages and picketing at its major mail-sorting centres. A number of smaller mail sorting depots are also affected.

Mogale City account holders are therefore urged to update their contact details by sending their active cell phone numbers and email addresses together with their account numbers to customerservices@mogalecity.gov.za to receive municipal statements via email and SMS.

Alternatively, account holders can contact our call centre on 086 166 4253 for account balances so that they can make payment.

Account holders can also register to view and download statements on the municipal website.

How to register your account:

1. Click on the “View Online Statements” button
2. Enter your first name, last name, e-mail address, password, confirm password and submit your details
3. You will receive an activation e-mail to confirm your account details
4. Click on ‘Confirm my account’ to proceed
5. Complete the ‘Create an account here’ information using your account number and selecting an account name i.e. ‘House Account’ and submit
6. To access your account enter e-mail address and password

For online registration, please note that if your account number is less than 15 digits; add zeros in front of your number to make it a total of 15 digits. This is to ensure that the system is able to find your account number.

Account holders are advised that nonreceipt of a municipal statement will not be accepted as justification for non-payment of their accounts, thus account holders are requested to pay their June 2018 accounts on or before 31 July 2018.
