The National Lotteries Commission which was appointed to regulate the National Lottery popularly referred to as the Lotto in township and other circles, has scheduled a series of educational and awareness workshops in the coming months.
The commission was established in terms of the Lotteries Amendment Act (No 32 0f 2013) to, as indicated above, legalise different lotteries including society lotteries to raise funds and promotional competitions. These workshops, which will take place across all 9 provinces of South Africa, primarily aim to educate historically disadvantaged communities on accessing Lotto funding.
