Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) in a joint initiative with the local taxi associations will on the 19th March 2018 embark on a taxi relocation process. The relocation process entails moving taxis, commuters and taxi-related activities from the existing Krugersdorp taxi rank (to be upgraded) to a temporary taxi rank in the CBD.
This initial rank relocation phase is to create a temporary infrastructure near the Krugersdorp Kwikspar (at Von Brandis street) to create space for the planned construction of the taxi rank. The construction project form part of the MCLM’s plan to regenerate Krugersdorp CBD and improving existing public transport facilities while working to expand public transport opportunities.
The following destinations will be serviced at the temporary taxi rank; Kagiso Ext 12, Kagiso 3, Kagiso Ext 14, Kagiso 2, Joshua Door, Leratong, Munsieville, Honeydew, Keywest, Silverstar, Kromdraai, Lion Park, Swanieville, Central Kagiso, Craddlestone, Lewisham and Joshua, tshepisong, Brits, Hekpoort, Mayibuye, Kagiso and Heningklip, Muldersdrift.
