Gauteng MEC for Economic Development and Agriculture Rural Development Lebogang Maile together with Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Faith Mazibuko recently visited Mogale City to report on the State of the Province (SOPA) delivered by Premier David Makhura in February.
Addressing the community of Magaliesburg in a packed Magaliesburg Civic Centre, Mazibuko highlighted Gauteng Provincial Government’s programme of action and service delivery priorities for the year 2018 and beyond. “We are here to usher in a total renewal of the public service and fundamental change in the way our citizens experience governance, including strengthening accountability and integrity of public as per our premier’s SOPA”, she said.
Mazibuko also called on all public service officials to uphold high standards of accountability, integrity, ethic and respect for citizens. “We can grow the economy of our province if we all work together,” she added.
Other issues that were addressed in the community meeting were youth unemployment, housing, crime, interventions on women and children abuse, land distribution plans as well as partnerships with the private sector to create economic opportunities.
