Mogale City Local Municipality alerts potential service providers about the existence of false letters of appointment being sent to service providers by a fraudster posing as a municipal official in our Supply Chain Management Division.
The false letters:
- Carry Mogale City Local Municipality logo, false email address and contact numbers;
- Notify service providers that tender RFQ F (R) 01/2015 for manhole covers has been awarded to them;
- Advise service providers to buy those covers from A-to-Z Covers.
The municipality did not issue such a request for quotation and did not issue any appointment letters in this regard. Please note that the municipality strictly follows official procurement processes. No tender or quotation can be awarded without a bid or quotation process being followed. All official quotations are advertised on Mogale City’s website.
Service providers are requested not to deposit any money into private bank accounts as Mogale City never charges a deposit on the award of a quotation. Service providers are also urged to not deliver any goods if they are not in receipt of an official Mogale City order.
