Mogale City regrets to inform residents that Rand Water’s Eikenhof substation was struck by lightning last night, leaving the supplier with only 30% water supply to their consumers.
This incident will negatively affect Mogale City reservoir levels as water demand is amplified by increased heat thus putting strain on the municipality’s water resources and infrastructure.
Although we anticipate water levels to reach required levels from tomorrow, 4 March 2024, Water Services urges residents to restrict water consumption to absolute necessary use to reduce pressure on our water supply network.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates however, water tankers will be on standby to respond to affected areas.
