Gauteng MEC for Economic Development (GDED) Tasneem Motara together with Mogale City’s Enterprise and Rural Development Services senior managers recently visited the community of Kagiso as part of the departments’ GP Plug Roadshow.

The visit sought to present opportunities available at GDED, its entities and various partnerships to empower and aid potential and existing local business owners. Various departmental services such as SMME development, partnerships, skills development and training, funding, business formalisation and market access were presented and discussed with highly engaging attendees.

Mogale City’s Enterprise and Rural Development Manager Deon Govender outlined services and assistance that his department offers such as business development, compliance, registration and encouraged attendees to make use of these services.

Delivering her keynote address, MEC Motara highlighted that the GDED through its partners, has and is continuing to assist local entrepreneurs in various communities to start and grow their businesses – whether financially or through business aspects such as human resources, marketing and more. She further shared that the department not only focuses on businesses but is also in the employ of consumer affairs champions to help with consumer protection and the enforcement of consumer rights.
