The Department of Sports, Arts and Culture has strategically partnered with Mentec Foundation, Microsoft and public libraries to offer free online Microsoft courses to afford members of various communities the opportunity to gain new job skills and for personal learning.

Driven by an increased number of people transitioning into technical roles, the cost-free course aims to help people learn foundational skills as well as relevant hard and soft skills needed for in-demand and tech-enabled jobs. There are various online fields of study to choose from such as Fibre Security Awareness, Creative Economy and Freelancing, Career Essentials in Generative Artificial Intelligence, Entrepreneurship and so much more!

Mogale City Library Services encourages residents to register and enroll by visiting https://www.mentecs2.co.za/. All you need is a smartphone, tablet or computer connected to the internet. Interested community members that do not have access to any of the above-mentioned devices are welcome to visit any of our 16 Mogale City libraries to be assisted while those that have access to devices and data can start the online registration process and self-place for a minimum of two courses. Upon completion, beneficiaries will obtain a certificate for each registered course.
